Set in 1945, at the end of World War II, a retired Chinese army officer, Jet Li, came to Tsing Tao. One night, an arrogant American officer, Hanes, was driving recklessly on the street and hit an innocent pedestrian. Li rushed to help the wounded man but got into a fight with a group of US officers. Though Li defeated the officers, he was pursued relentlessly by these people. To survive, Li had to fight for his life.
Apart from using his advance Kung-Fu skills, Jet Li demonstrates an incredible American boxing style, a completely different fighting style for him in this movie.
